Sea Island reached out to Katie Huebel, owner of WED, in the summer to ask if she would be interested is participating in their Holiday Designer Showcase. Katie enthusiastically accepted and began the process of formulating a design concept for the room she was assigned, the Georgian Room. The theme revolved around a wholistic Audubon flavor that had accents of various white and gold tones. WED was asked to design a 12 foot tree as well as their imposing mantle. Using driftwood, oyster shells, moss, pine cones and many other local elements, allowed the theme to work beautifully in the Georgian Room. The tree skirt was made with local green garland and moss. This design detail brought the theme full circle. It truly was a memorable weekend spent creating in an environment that is unlike any place in the world. The Cloister at Sea Island is at the top of their game!
